Our Life Critical Illness Guide
Critical Illness Cover
Reasons to review your Critical Illness Situation
You don’t have it.
Many people leave it until it’s too late or very expensive when it comes to Critical Illness. If you develop a health condition you’ll find it extremely difficult getting cover.
You may have taken your original plan out while you were a smoker and now you are not. Or lenders had much less lenient terms on a condition. We can assess this and let you know your options.
Each provider will only cover a set list of conditions. By choosing your Insurer carefully you could end up with a much more comprehensive list of conditions. You may also not have the sum assured you are comfortable with, i.e. £25,000 but would prefer £100,000 to cover mortgage or Family commitments.
A Critical Illness plan is designed to pay out a lump sum on the diagnosis of certain specified illnesses. It is often ‘bolted on’ to a life assurance policy as an additional benefit but can also be a standalone plan.
This type of plan is designed for individuals or families who will need access to a lump sum if they are diagnosed with a serious illness. The lump sum could be used is to repay a loan, mortgage, or to cover time off work.
The quality of cover and the illnesses covered can vary significantly between different providers. At Carter Lee we have access to a nationwide group of insurance providers which means we can help you find the plan that best meets your requirements, taking into account all eventualities.
